Super Smoothie

I’m trying to make a continuous effort to make healthier choices everyday, and my oh my have I fallen in love with the ‘C U Right’ smoothie from Kauai. I believe that health is not an overnight miracle, but rather about making small changes that improve your life. Health is about feeling good from within. I absolutely love citrus flavours and this power smoothie has it all. It contains strawberry, pineapple, honey, mango and 500mg of vitamin C for an extra BANG. This smoothie is the perfect flu fighter with all that vitamin C and just a mere 54 calories. I usually get sick easily during the winter months but I have not had one flu symptom this winter (whoooop!!).

Some “need-to-know’s”:

Strawberries: Packed with vitamins, fibre and antioxidants meaning that they’re able to reduce the risk of heart disease, cancer and diabetes.

Pineapple: One of my favourite fruits, so yum! Can reduce the risk of arthritis and are also rich in vitamin C and B-complex vitamins.

Honey: A good substitute for sugar and is known for its antibacterial and anti fungal properties, which is a belief that dates back to the early days of Egyptian tombs. Honey is known to sooth coughs and boost memory. Not only is it an ingredient in the C U right smoothie, but it’s also great for skin and hair where it’s often used in facial scrubs and hair masks.

Mango: Improves digestion, boosts the immune system, good for eye health and it lowers cholesterol.

I paired this with a delicious on-the-go breakfast wrap post workout, it was so refreshing.  With the 500mg of pure vitamin C, the Kauai C U right smoothie is a definite winner, especially in the winter months.
